Alpaca manure (aka beans, due to their coffee bean appearance) are an often overlooked by-product from raising alpacas. Alpacas have highly efficient digestive systems and create one of the best soil enhancers that nature can provide. It is lower in organic matter, such as grasses, compared to other livestock manures.
One of the best reasons to use alpaca manure for enhancing your soil is because it is a complete nutrient (meaning that all three nutrients are present) and has the highest nitrogen levels of all animal manures. The NPK (nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium) ratio for camelid manure is 1.7-.69-.66.
Much of the soil found in backyard gardens is lacking in NPK . It is important to add these into your soil to enhance plants ability to grow. A good ratio of NPK will ensure your plants will produce beautiful foliage, stimulate root growth, and be overall vigorous plants. For more information on what NPK is and why it is important for good soil health, please visit this site.
Unlike other animal manures, alpaca can be added straight to your soil without additional composting time and will not burn your plants with no fillers or synthetic chemicals, providing a sustainable, safe, and eco-friendly solution for your garden.
