100% Alpaca Fiber + Wool Pellets are a premier soil amendment for both your indoor and outdoor plants, trees, shrubs, gardens, and lawns.
These pellets use our second and third cuts of fiber - the smaller and coarser bits that would normally not be of any use - finding new life in helping to improve soil moisture retention, and support plant health.

💧 Retains Moisture
Helps soil hold water longer between watering. Pellets can hold 10x their weight which helps to keep the soil moist for longer as well as helping to prevent overwatering. In dry climate especially, water can quickly move through the soil. As the pellets expand with watering, they trap the moisture, then slowly release it back into the soil as plants need it, which can reduce watering frequency by up to 30%.

Slow-release organic matter supports plant growth. As they break down over time, they release vital nutrients to your plants that help them thrive. Typically the pellets will be broken completely down within 6 months.

Enhances aeration and root development. When the pellets absorb water, they swell and then contract as they dry; this mechanical action creates air pockets in the soil. This increases soil porosity for optimal root growth.

Made from 100% Northwest Colorado raw alpaca fiber & wool. During the production process the raw fiber is shredded then compressed under extreme pressure and heat. This high heat and mechanical force used make any hitchhiking seeds, vegetable matter, or larvae found in the fiber non-viable.

Fiber pellets can also be used as a top dressing or mulch that help create a dense barrier that hinders the germination of existing weed seeds in the soil, as well as block any new wind-blown weed seeds from taking root.
Pellets also help control slugs and snails by creating a physical and abrasive barrier that irritates their sensitive undersides. Unlike chemical baits, they do not kill the pests but instead encourage them to seek food elsewhere.
